Jean-Philippe Raynaud trained at the universities of Toulouse and Paris, in medicine, psychiatry and neuroscience. Predominantly working as a clinician, he is head of department and professor of child and adolescent psychiatry at Toulouse University Hospital.
As member of a research unit at French Institute for Health and Medical Research (Unité Mixte de Recherche 1027 Inserm-Université Toulouse 3), he works on trauma- and stressor-related disorders, on factors of vulnerability among children and adolescents and on organization of care and prevention in child and adolescent mental health.
Between 2006 and 2014 he co-edited four IACAPAP-books and was vice-president of IACAPAP (International association for child and adolescent psychiatry and allied professions) between 2010 and 2014.
He was president of the scientific committee of SFPEADA (French society for child and adolescent psychiatry and allied professions) between 2009 and 2015.
He is currently member of the board of European Society for Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (ESCAP), in charge of the ESCAP Clinical Division.
